Colaiste Ide is a College of Further Education that seeks to provide a school of excellence in which each individual student and staff member may reach his or her potential in a welcoming, supportive and safe environment. The college is a coeducational, nondenominational centre of education funded and managed by the City of Dublin Education Training Board Committee to provide a Further Education service to the community of Finglas in Dublin North-West.
Through our previous mobility charter activities we have seen the benefit and impact of Internationalisation within our programmes. We have grown and expanded our project successfully by continually evaluating, improving and implementing changes through management structures to ensure quality programmes, quality motilities and a quality service to our learners. During the previous 5 year charter we have refined our host partners such that the host partners that we are engaged with, in both Italy and France, can offer a wide range of work practice in various sectors such as Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, Art , Fashion, Sciencce and Childcare which mirrors the programmes of study our students are engaged in at both level 5 and level 6. The development of closer links with our host partners has seen improvements in our work placements and opportunities for our students.
As part of that improvement one of the initiatives undertaken was to include staff mobility projects as a means of developing continual professional
development and expertise amongst our staff. One of our partners ALFMED a French organistation won EfVet Excellence Award for staff mobility projects, “French Cook Masterclasses”, which by association we have benefited from. Our staff have also had the experience of travelling and working in Italy, Malta and Hungry, in the areas of childcare, art, sport and catering, where they have had extensive opportunities to network with local companies and enterprises.
